Ορθόδοξα Θαύματα – Η Παναγία εμποδίζει τα τάνκ των Ναζί στον Ορχομενό

Orthodox Miracles – Virgin Mary blocks Nazi’s tanks at Orhomenos Took place in: Orhomenos, Viotia September of 1943. Italians capitulate. A team of residents from Orhomenos (Viotia) approach the railway station of Livadia, and ask the Italian garrison to deliver their guns to them. Otherwise, they warned them that they would be attacked by rebels of the region Tzamali (Dionisos). The Italians refused to surrender and informed the Germans, who decided to burn down Orhomenos and punish the residents. On the 9th of September, the Germans invaded Orhomenos and captured 600 hostages. A part of them stayed in the city, whereas another part with three armored vehicles went towards Dionisos. The most ancient Church of Viotia (874 A.C.) is built outside Orhomenos and is dedicated to the Assumption Day, – the old Monastery of Skripou. It was still midnight. The column was 550 meters away from the Church when the first tank got immobilized in the middle of the road. The Germans witnessed the form of a lordly woman with her hand raised in a prohibitive stance. The second tank tried to pass by the first one but fell into a ditch, whereas the third tank got immobilized while trying to pas through a field. The 10th of September dawned. Commander Hoffman then requested from the residents a tractor to pull the tanks. Then, something spectacular happened. the tractor was able to easily pull the heavy tanks like empty matchboxes! He then proclaimed; “Miracle! Miracle!” and asked the residents to take him to Church. Indeed, they led him to the Church. From the icon in the Church, the German commander recognized the woman who prevented the column from moving on to be the Virgin Mary! He fell down on his knees and said with admiration: “This woman saved you! You must honor her and glorify her!”. Orhomenos was saved. Hoffman ordered the release of the 600 hostages who were condemned to death, and promised that the city would not be harmed again until the end of the war. Residents thanked and glorified their protector, Virgin Mary, for their unhoped salvation. The sun sets on the west. The tanks left with their cannons down, because they were outplayed by the Advocate Strategist of Orhomenos. Ever since then, the Panagia Skripou celebrates a feast on September 10 every year. As long as Hoffman was alive, he would return on September 10 to commemorate the event annually. He donated a large oil lamp to Virgin Mary along with the money for the first icon depicting the vision of the miracle he saw. {Source}

    Κάποια μαρτυρία υπάρχει γι' αυτό το θαύμα?
    Κάποιο γραπτό ιστορικό κείμενο? Έστω η μαρτυρία του Χόφμαν ή κάποιου άλλου Γερμανού? Από Ελληνικής πλευράς, πόσοι μάρτυρες το επιβεβαιώνουν?

    Γιατί η Παναγία δεν βοήθησε και σε άλλες περιπτώσεις παρά μόνο στον Ορχομενό?

    Hi Effy, how are you? It was quite a long time that I didn't see one of your beatiful videos. Well what can I say; except the fact that this unforgettable miracle perfectly narrated with this heartbreaking music, simply brought tears to my eyes. Thank you. {By the way: this melody is not new for me, but at the moment I cannot remember more about it}. Anyway, remembering more great stories shared by you, I must say that I also love your attentive and developed musical 'taste'! Take care, Greek friend.
