The Cult of Mithras was born in Rome in the first century. Mithras was a god of soldiers and Mithraism was popular with the Roman legions. A religion with no public services, worshippers of Mithras convened in secret temples and held rituals. It is said Mithras was born from a stone. Scholars say the cult of Mithras died around the 4th century. They are mostly correct. The remains of the cult still exist today, in the form of a handful of followers in England. Near the Roman colony of Londinium, or modern day London. Today’s Mithraists are not devout. They are, however, dedicated and practical. How does a cult survive that long? Because they have irrefutable proof that at least some parts of the old legends are correct. The cult possesses the “Mithral Stone” – the stone from which Mithras was born in the legend. The “Mithral Stone” gives its wielder supernatural power over “FIRE” “EARTH” “WATER” and “AIR”. You are part of the modern Cult of Mithras.
