Gun-Mandatory ‘Citadel’ Compound is Totally Not a Cult

using the at the same time they climbed
back is planning a two billion dollar libertarian compound in texas there is
another group of libertarians better planning in different libertarian
compound appellate is incredibly bad idea has spread like a virus and it’s a good
overall but so-called libertarian records that these guys are called the senator
al and they say that it is a bastion of
moderate even we were all idaho any reports of two thousand of three
thousand acres with lose money this unclear of what are ironically they will have
rules so carol rules you must pay a two hundred eight dollar
application fee by local specificity of a step back but if you pay two hundred and seven that
obviously wouldn’t do it two hundred nine dollars would be way
overreaching of the c_e_o_ to sign the patriot
agreement weapons parliamentarianism hablamos last can bring our own signed your
agreement uh… when this thing falls apart it’s
gonna be also then you have to alone and they are
fifteen rifle housen realms of admission you what’s well under freedom what if i don’t wanna
norman mailer fifteen off it that means they say that it you’re going
to happen on a stockade of other supplies also for survival and patriots ages thirteen and up must
pass firearms proficiency tests and every resident of peach must be equitable decide on what ever visiting the town so that’s my favorite you wanted to get to know to the town
center you better bring your air fifty in your direct your violation of the
rules think about that also byron of libertarians who say just leave me alone that’s the
whole point of the libertarian principle say no you must all these rules including needlessly but there were going to tell
center it’s not and when they started disagree on the
rules their libertarians who think they’re not
gonna disagree on the rules may all have their fifties in the past
about the laminated they all like that plays out cannot let me show you the at the whole
mapa misplace the here here it is and they got the think so what they’re
calling no one is that the john parker green is probably where the massacre a lot repeat subho i mean a art into then amalgam shootings
at what happened around place they would actually got distracted would be not model global right except there will be constructed this the the who’s going to have the money to for the homeless and then do all that
infrastructure at when nobody’s gonna wanna follow it
singled them rule but there’s more i read your and with that week i go to
john ira rollover what else will they be doing a discount on john so first of all uh… you will be applying to live there
but you cannot actually own any of the land there there’s no private property for the
models kids you one of the primary reasons for at least
paradigm versus private property inside the walls is our desire to make the
community for patriots only that that that’s a lie or innovation uh… the
model be similar to many ways as that of disneyland it’s walt dated private
property again sometime property leasing uh… with controlled access people pay
to enter a group of rules because they see a value in doing so and that the reason that they’re saying
that is that they want freedom and liberty but if they don’t like what you do when
you get there they want to be able to force you to leave and so they don’t want to study land
because of the conf or silly authorized like freedom and whether i
love the riverside community to looked as a community god damn it okay their follow all the rules they can
not on any of the property although as you did it it up what’s the next thing is there to use on
the map that they they listed there before they’re going to have that three arms uh… done manufacturing
facility there uh… which by the way is going to fund
uh… this community so they have this this private company which is going to
donate its money to basically the state so it is a state owned corporation that
is funding the operation of government it’s not for the free market not private
property it’s its cognizant basically book why are they
just call it stalingrad exactly there there’s there’s one other thing
that it is interesting that out one of the questions that very willingly put in
there i think you is are you a bunch of wackos slash cultists less racist and
they say actually quite the opposite rightful liberty that’s their philosophy
is a very tolerant live-in let live philosophy we stand fully in fixed
remiss at all prejudicial philosophies those types of people would not be
comfortable around us bar remember again if they don’t like
what you do when you get there if you don’t carrier side arm with the u_n_ if you
fall below one thousand rounds of ammunition they will force you to leave the
property which is not yours when you have to clarify and that you’re
not for whackos cultists and racist you might have an issue but and by the way like all compounds
this will be bald into the leader of the compound having sex with your wife uh…

Thanks. Completed in the 14th century. Admittedly not bronze age, but pre industrial. Walls mean little to a modern military.

Fortunately the top predators around here are omnivores, They usually stay clear of cities. =P

i see what you did there Cenk, You compared the massacre and slaughter that happened in Stalingrad to the potential and inevitable massacre that will occur in this paradox of a society-very clever

  3. politicsthatmatter Posted on January 20, 2013 at 12:22 am

I wonder if they'll have a Liberty Prime? If so, I think I would have to go.

  4. LabTech Posted on January 20, 2013 at 1:55 am

yeah, I'll freely admit Cenk often lets his emotions get the best of him, but at least he created a news organization that has many other reporters in it, and he often steps back and lets them do what they want. alot of other news organizations wouldn't allow that kind of autonomy. so while Cenk may have an exaggerated left/right stance, he gives room to those who don't.

  5. hallavast Posted on January 20, 2013 at 3:00 am

He made a good argument, but one point of his (the point about "no rules") was misleading.

Also, as a libertarian, I am oversensitive to the fact that Cenk and company view us as dumb and/or evil. This perhaps adds a subtext to his argument.

    I like your thumbnail.

  6. Stingerbillion Posted on January 20, 2013 at 3:04 am

I thought libertarians were against rules? You know, "freeeeeeedddoooommmm". What about being against tax(es)? $208 fee? really? LOL

  7. Frederic Purenne Posted on January 20, 2013 at 3:08 am

No no, do not mix the fact that he thinks the Citadel's idea is dumb. And the only evil part he's implying is the capitalistic nature of gun companies.

And thanks, I like it too! It's also my tattoo…

  8. Rich Hart Posted on January 20, 2013 at 2:39 pm

The twisted side of me wants to see this place constructed and life inside televised. So when the place inevitably devolves into a Hunger Games like battle to the death we'll all be massively entertained.

  16. Zom Posted on January 21, 2013 at 11:54 pm

Cenk's a dip if he thinks these guys are the smart intellectual group that understands the intricacies of libertarian thought. Just like every guy who was at occupy wall street represents the highest of liberal intellect

  17. Brian Kearney Posted on January 22, 2013 at 2:31 am

Like The Citadel, Cenk has no idea what a libertarian is.

  20. Shadowsafter Posted on January 22, 2013 at 8:39 pm

A bunch of uneducated, juvenile fuckwits running around a boring, enclosed space, each armed with the same automatic weapons sputtering on the end of their turgid erections. This place is a real-life Call of Duty map!

  21. Shadowsafter Posted on January 22, 2013 at 8:42 pm

"Libertarian" doesn't mean shit to anyone anymore, because the people who claimed to be Libertarians were stupid enough that people didn't trust their definitions, and so many different people used it that there were no clear defining characteristics.

1000 rounds of ammo isn't all that much. Besides I don't want AR-15 platform gun really.

  26. Ze'ev Indikt Posted on January 24, 2013 at 10:30 pm

Two things that become obvious as you read their website:
    1. As mentioned, the entire idea of the citadel, all the rules are contrary to the libertarian ideology.
    2. All their rules are actually incredibly rational! If I was to build a community like that, I'd probably include most of these rules.

Point is: when these tread-on-me nots get to the actual business of building a community, they THEMSELVES realize that their ideology is not practical. They themselves throw their ideas under the bus.

  27. foughtwolf Posted on January 24, 2013 at 11:12 pm

  38. strangeyoungman Posted on January 30, 2013 at 2:47 am

Rather than a lease paradigm, they'd be better off as a co-op. Co-ops have much more participation, and they'd still be able to approve or deny applicants -they'd would have a harder time getting people to leave, though.

  39. Jefff Posted on January 31, 2013 at 11:45 am

Looking at that map, that looks more like a prison than a town. What will happen when they don't want you to leave? My image of my dream home is surely not surrounded by a 30ft stone wall. If I want that, I'll go murder someone and I'll have that for the rest of my life.

My ideal home would sit up on a hill with a beautiful view and just a minute walk or bike ride from the woods. I would like the ability to take photos of a sunset or sunrise w/ my DSLR on a tripod.

  40. Steve G Posted on January 31, 2013 at 6:52 pm

This is anecdotal, but I have interviewed about 50 Occupy protesters in different rallies in California, and also have interviewed about 30 Tea Partiers, just to have them discuss their philosophies about government, taxes, war, health, energy, labor, academia and drug use. I didn't inflect my questions with loaded terms or bias–I just asked in the most neutral way I could. Nearly every OWS'er gave me coherent, well-crafted analysis. The Tea Partiers largely gave me paranoid, factless myth.

  41. Steve G Posted on January 31, 2013 at 7:11 pm

@darklord bob: The type of person who voluntarily lives in a gun-obsessed walled community where every citizen is forced to carry weapons when they interact is decently likely to be a person quick to respond in anger and fear to any perceived slight. Yes. And every new participant increases the chance of a fight, and fights where everyone is armed usually get out of hand very quickly. It is not a stretch to theorize that these paranoid people in this enclosed space will shoot each other.

  42. Steve G Posted on January 31, 2013 at 7:19 pm

@superpoof: TYT is about as anti-Democrat as any news organization that is not a Conservative propaganda rag. At least 20 minutes of every show is spent criticizing Democrats, and not just cosmetically–it accuses them of widespread systemic corruption, cowardice, incompetence, dishonesty, war crimes–I don't know what show you think you are watching. Just because TYT also lambasts Conservatism doesn't mean it is even slightly pro-Dem. It is as far from the MSM as any American news show.

  43. Puddin Tame Posted on January 31, 2013 at 7:28 pm

Why would you deny me my right to blow the head off of some fucktard who doesnt love freedom as much as I do? Hell with "utopia" we want Thunderdome….

  44. JackFrost Posted on February 2, 2013 at 6:39 pm

  47. Lonnie Robinson Posted on February 5, 2013 at 4:39 pm

You are so fucking stupid it's ridiculous. Where your democrat/socialist CITADELs are in full effect such as Chicago, where a disarmed citizenry exists, the murder rate is worse than american casualties in Afganistan. And, you fucking stupid know-it-all fuck, a sidearm is a pistol not a rifle. The one nice thing that I've noticed about you socialst fucks over the years is that in the end you, the bad guys, always always eat your own 🙂 Fabian Strategy

  48. Orions Angel Posted on February 8, 2013 at 5:26 am

White man's fear and paranoia of a black president has lead to this lol. Once Obama leaves office all this will end. Mark my words. The tea party. These compounds. It's all going away. lol!

  49. Orions Angel Posted on February 8, 2013 at 5:27 am

I thought Bioshock Infinite was just a game, but it looks like they wanna make something similar in real life, lmao!

  50. Orions Angel Posted on February 8, 2013 at 5:28 am

  53. Zom Posted on February 10, 2013 at 10:50 pm

In general liberals are more fact based, once you get to the general pop of these movements that aren't on a liberal slant you get more and more faith based opinions, and hearsay. I don't doubt your claim, I just don't think it stands as an honest criticism against real libertarian ideology and to me its unhelpful to have this appealing stupid strawman when Cenks are smart dude who could ACTUALLY fucking critique it on some serious level.

  54. Merit66 Posted on February 13, 2013 at 6:55 pm

    The citadel isn't libertarian…

  55. Winston Posted on February 16, 2013 at 5:52 pm

Who's assuming? I love this attitude that dehumanizes people on the basis of whether or not they own a firearm.

If they want to live in a compound, let em. It's live and let let live in my eyes. But I guess with you, Oh I hope they all kill each other.

  56. quidnick Posted on February 17, 2013 at 8:58 pm

All we need now is to organize a liberal genocide! START DIGGIN DITCHES,BOYS IT'S PANSY HUNTING SEASON!!!

  57. quidnick Posted on February 17, 2013 at 9:00 pm

I would love to see all of these hosts kill themselves on camera. That would be exhiliarating!

  58. TheFlamingSparrow Posted on February 19, 2013 at 1:07 am

I didn't say I hoped they did, it's pretty much guarantee. Its not about JUST the firearms, but the type of people who would move there. Aka, super hyper paranoid gun owners who only care for themselves and listen to nuts like Glenn Beck.

  59. Eatmyhardcockbarack Posted on March 2, 2013 at 10:23 am

  63. Dragonworks Posted on April 10, 2013 at 12:47 pm

So what do you do in a survivalist compound? Once you've got your provisions and guns and feel safe from your encroaching paranoid fantasies what are you going to do next?

Seems like it could get pretty boring in a closed compound where everyone is fearful of the outside world.

  75. Kirby Harris Posted on August 29, 2013 at 4:03 pm

It is not totalitarian at all, because most totalitarian states you aren't banished, you are forced to live that way or put to death. This ia a total vounteerist society. It has rules and if you don't agree with the rules how can you stay or why would you want to. All societies are set up like this. In the US if you don't like the rules you can either leave or fight an uphill battle to change things.

  76. Kirby Harris Posted on August 29, 2013 at 4:06 pm

The only thing I would be afraid of here is, if you can't vote to change things then how free can you be, the moment you decide your views have evolved and you don't agree then you must leave. I don't remember the all the site says, but I think they have a council or something that allows for the citizens to vote and change laws according to new challenges kind of like we can change the US constitution.

  77. Beowulf54Mc Posted on September 8, 2013 at 12:15 am

Yep. They think that as soon as the compound is complete it will be sieged by zombies or bandits or something. It will be a bunch of people driving around armed to the teeth, doing nothing.

  78. Shadowsafter Posted on September 11, 2013 at 1:09 pm

It kind of reminds me of that South Park episode with the hippie festival where they're all like "We wanna tear down society! And then we'll have, like, a new society where, like, we'll have one guy who makes bread, and other guy who makes sure nobody does bad stuff!"
And Stan says "You mean like a baker and a cop?"

  79. Dougwrench Posted on September 11, 2013 at 9:31 pm

I don't know if any of the diarrhea mouths on here actually have done any research on the III Patriots but if you have, these guys are the ones I want covering my butt when the crap hits the fan. Call it what you want, however when we are reduced to a third world nation through the failed policies of this executive branch, some will call it a safe haven. I will call it Insurance…

  80. jefe Anson Posted on November 29, 2013 at 5:21 am

Yeah Democrats have a false union collective ideology but in the end they literally cannibalize their own kind! Once the working class can't support the entitlement clas all hell breaks loose, you can really understand that socialism historically and scientifically implodes on its self drastically and dramatically into ultimate failure! All this political correctness leads to not anarchy but to true despotism!

  81. Nova King Posted on January 1, 2014 at 7:07 am

I really wish they would.  First off it would get them all out of society, and second it would be a great experiment to prove them wrong.  DO IT

  83. Diginess Unknown Posted on May 21, 2014 at 9:57 am

You're right Cenk, liberty is a bad idea.  People are incapable of thinking for themselves, obviously can't do anything right unless threatened with violence by police, and we all should have to pay more taxes to pay your welfare benefits.

  84. larry sims Posted on July 8, 2014 at 3:57 pm

  85. 22steve5150 Posted on July 23, 2014 at 9:51 pm

Sounds to me like the real purpose of this place is to concentrate as many right wing "gun colletor" types who buy into that "sovereign citizen" bullshit as possible and within a fortified structure that has long term self sustaining supplies, then provoke some kind of action from the Federal government and either cause the government to back down from armed intervention (which  they see as a win) or be the "victims" of the measures that military forces would have to use to take that fucking place out (which they also see as a win for their cause).  These people probably have "Remember WACO!" and "Remember Ruby Ridge!" bumper stickers on their pickup trucks.

  89. Daniel Ryan Posted on July 16, 2015 at 12:29 pm

When I first heard about this crackpot idea, my very first thought was that there are already small communities that exist behind guarded walls in complete isolation from the rest of the world-they are called jails, and I doubt the people living in them would consider their isolation a form of freedom.

  90. Brian Garrigan Posted on September 22, 2015 at 7:32 pm

great to go back and watch old TYT videos.  Ive almost forgot when the political climate wasn't so explosive as it is now.   Those were the days. we could talk about politics and still have fun and even laugh a little.  Now, things are so fucked up that it is impossible to even mention politics without starting a troll war or a all out brawl.

No contradiction at all to Libertarian principles. Nobody is forcing people to join. According to your logic, a libertarian who is in favor of drug liberation should accept cocaine sniffers in his house.
