    Thanks Lisa. It was powerful stuff. My father used to hit me with a belt and that's pretty much all I remember of my childhood – and even with a belt that had space on it for bullets and it left bullet belt welts (no bullets were inside). I was only a little girl who needed her parents to be fascinated with her, and love her. I was innocent.

    Then I met a man who's shame is so great he's a narc. That's not a coincidence, I'm starting to understand. And he withdrew his support when I was pregnant, and abandoned his son who he has never met.

    It really helped me to let go of some of the shame my father gave to me – while my mother stood by and did nothing – even adding her own (I'll need to revisit that a few times I think, there is much anger there) , and helped me to give back the shame to my son's father. It is not ours, no matter how purposeful he was too offload his own shame onto us. Especially my innocent son. This shame is not ours and we return its rightful owner.

    Lisa thank u so much for these videos. I have been searching for some deep help with shame. Last night I listened to the other meditation video. Healing the inner child. I fell asleep quickly (struggling with insomnia ) and had a good 7 hrs peaceful sleep. Tonight I am gonna listen to this one when I am ready to go to bed

    It was so hard for me to focus and imagine people emotions when I saw myself on a tv. And to release the shame was even more difficult. It felt like my brain was annoyed and wanted to escape. I finished the meditation, but I wanna try it again, my mind seems to resist. And I am still surprised by the moment I chose. I was confused, I didn t know when I felt alone, although I felt like that often. Maybe that s why was so difficult to choose a single moment.

    I found this to be a very helpful exercise! But what does one tells themselves when there was no abuser etc…and the shame is simply from very poor choices one has made over the years? I can't exactly send the shame back through the universe to the abuser as that wouldn't apply. The forgiveness thing doesn't work all that welI either. I do forgive myself but the thoughts of guilt and shame just keep coming back. Any advice, or do you have another meditation for that? Thanks : )

    I"m at about 75% of your Road Back to Me book, and i'm so moved by your story. I'm almost like the dude version of you – a boy getting the same treatment from mom. But I got more physical abuse, and I"m thinking less emotional abuse.. Anyway. .. thanks for this meditation. At 51 yo, still dealing with repercussions

    I feel a toxic shame -" why cant you go with me?" She asks. "I have a family to support" I think But do not say. No! she says. "Leave them and come with me – when i say so." "Bad girl!" She shames me. I am almost forty. She is My mother. Almost sixty. But she talks negatively about people. I feel shame. "Stop! What is your problem?" I want to say to her.

    ive been struggleing years from narc abuse, all through my childhood always thinking it was my fault, and i deserved everything that happened to me, i never realized the constant sad feelings were the outcomes of shame. this was so powerful i dont think ive cried so hard in a long time. thank you for this im not proud of the way ive acted in my adult hood i hope to start again and create a life of love. thank you for this beautiful video.

    Thank you so much. I couldn’t sleep that well last night. My suppressed shame from years of childhood sexual abuse and narc abuse somehow entered my dream state. Your meditation came into my YouTube feed this morning coincidentally. I haven’t cried that much in such a long time. I feel so much better. I plan to continue. Thank you.🙏🏻

    This meditation was phenomenal. I feel balanced and serene now. Thank you! I've been in a not-so-good place from my default mode you discuss in one of your recent videos…Emotions on Auto-Pilot–You Are Not Crazy–Your Brain May be in Default Mode. Highly recommend that one, too Needed to hear the info in that video since it's right where I am currently. My narc has been gone for 10 years, but we had a "friendship" that recently I realized I needed to go No Contact, which I did. Suddenly, all of my past started dive-bombing me, and that's when I knew I needed your coaching class, Lisa 🙂 I was having what I call a "life review" that brought on deep crying when I'd least expect it. Plus, I seem to have a perpetual stream of narcissistic/sociopathic people walking through my life currently. Will this never stop?! Changing topics: many good suggestions from peeps, so I printed all of that out to carry with me, for protection and guidance. Good stuff!! I respond well to the combination of spiritual, psychological, etc. Have LOVED reading everyone's comments. Very helpful. Whew! I feel like I can survive now with all this good stuff at my fingertips, including the comment support from your followers.

    I’m going to trial and listen to this once everyday for 3 weeks. I just want to ask when do changes start to manifest itself and what kind of changes can you expect? Also I’ve noticed that probably half way through the guided meditation my mind starts to wander off else where, I’m just wondering if the meditation will still have any effect?

    Oh my God this is by far the most powerful meditation I have ever done in my entire life. Though The echo of the sound is very annoying and confusing I must say. This medication has succeeded in to being a physical sensation, all the guidance were very clear and set me in a great mood. when it was time for us to release the shame I started shivering crying breathing heavily. I felt that my left arm is totally numb but , I feel that 75% healed from just one time!! I feel lighter I feel happier and I feel calmer at the inside I’m willing to repeat this meditation again and let you know about the result thank you so much

    Thank you so much for making this video!! I have been through all kinds of abuse ever since I was 5 years old I'm a 34 year old mother of two beautiful daughters and I'm still trying to let go and heal so I can move on in my life. There is so many things I could do if I was not swimming in shame, anger, fear and sadness. I find this so helpful and will continue to listen to this. It's hard to hear this with the static but I still love this.
