Total War: Warhammer 2 Medieval Guide – Rituals & Interventions

Rituals & Intervention Armies Hail everyone, my name is Ser Medieval. And I’m here today to bring you a quick guide
video about Total War: Warhammer 2. Today’s subject will be about “Rituals & Interventions”. Without further ado, let’s go ahead and get
started. The overall objective of the Eye of the Vortex
map in Warhammer 2 is to take control of the Vortex resting at the center. To do this, you need to not only triumph over
your enemies military and economy-wise but in a mystical way as well. You can begin your quest of taking control
of the Vortex by casting rituals. To do this, you need ritual currency which
can be gained in various ways such as buildings, conquest, missions, and treasure hunting. Once you have enough ritual currency you will
need to start the ritual. Which will also alert everyone to your position
and spawn armies of Chaos to contest you. 3 cities will be nominated to aid in casting
the ritual and you will need to defend these settlements for the duration of the Ritual. This goes for the enemy factions as well. If an enemy faction begins casting a ritual
you will also receive a notification alerting you to their position. However, a new feature will open up. Intevention Armies:
In Total War: Warhammer 2 you will quickly discover that you start very far away from
enemies and even other allies. In case you aren’t able to make the journey
during an enemy ritual cast you can use what’s called Intervention Armies. Basically when you hover over an enemy ritual
in progress you will see the option to pay gold to hire mercenaries to attempt an incursion
on the enemy ritual sites. This enables you to deal with enemies at home
or focus on fortifying your surroundings whilst also disrupting enemy progress. Be sure to note that you’ll only be able to
hire one mercenary army so the more gold you spend on it the better. I hope this guide has helped you in your quest
of domination for the Vortex and if you liked the video please be sure to subscribe and
stay tuned for more guide videos. Thank you so all much for watching and I hope
you have a good night or day. Farewell.

Big problem with intervention armies as a feature is you don't control them in any way. As far as the player is concerned, their success or failure is completely random. Some players are even reporting that the AI can bug out, like if you try to send them to stop a Skaven ritual the intervention army just putters around because they don't recognize the 'ruins' as an actual hidden Skaven city they need to attack.

If you have 10K laying around, you ought to just raise an army and send it to the enemy yourself (assuming all your main armies are too busy to be sent). It might take them so long to get there that the ritual you're trying to stop has finished, but if you can beat them in battle you can cripple or kill off that faction entirely so it'll be the last thing they ever do. On top of that you can probably sack some great cities while you're there and more than make back the money spent on recruitment and maintenance.

Does it work excactly as a normal army?
Can I ignore intervening and just do whatever with it?
Can I take it's units and put in my main army?
    Does it cost upkeep?
Does it last as long as it's units are alive as a regular army?

Can you please tell me if another Army completes all the rituals before you do you fail the campaign?

I think you have to discover the race first., is that right? I couldnt see the option open to me to stop the lizardmen all the other way over the map :/
