What Baptism Is and Is Not – Matthew 28:19-20

I’m really looking forward to what the
Lord has for us today today we’re going to have our water baptism and at about 1:30
this afternoon after lunch and after a time of fellowship should give everyone
enough time we’re going to just meet out front and for those who are going to be
water baptized today all you really need is an extra pair of clothes and a towel
if you want you can change after the service if you’re going to be baptized
today this afternoon and you’re in this service it’s not too late if well maybe
after the teaching because we’re going to talk about water baptism and what
water baptism is and perhaps in some ways more importantly what water baptism
is not so I want to begin by looking at two reasons that every believer in and
follower of Jesus Christ needs to be water baptized at least once I’ve been
baptized several times not because it didn’t take the first you know time and
I hope to maybe explain that a little bit more as we get into that so after
that we’re also going to look at two things that water baptism does not do
what water baptism is not so let’s get started first water baptism is actually
a biblical command for those who are believers in Jesus Christ we
affectionately refer to this as the Great Commission in Matthew’s Gospel the
28th chapter verses 19 and 20 listen to what Jesus said go therefore and make
disciples of all the nations baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all things that
I have commanded you and lo I am with you always even to the end of the age
Amen so for those of you that are going to be
baptized today what you’re going to do is you’re going to get into the
baptismal and I am going to baptize you in the name of the Father in the name of
the Son and in the name of the Holy Spirit and I may even say in Jesus’ name
and there’s a reason for that because there is a teaching out there that says
that you need to be baptized in Jesus’ name so I prefer to listen to what Jesus
said in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit but I’m going to
cover all the bases just so you know everyone’s happy here’s
the second reason every single one of us needs to be water baptized as believers
it’s an outward expression of an inward commitment in which we publicly proclaim
and identify with the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ now let me
explain this a little bit further so when I put you into the water backwards
we’re not sprinkling anybody today if you want we can spray you with the hose
that’s fine but I’m going to put you backwards into the water that is the
identification of and the proclamation of your being saved and the death and
burial of Jesus Christ that’s the burial where you’re going down into the water
as Jesus would go down into the grave and then I won’t hold you down too long
and by the way remember to plug your nose okay or if you want I’ll do it for
you if you don’t want me doing it for you just plug your own nose and I’m going to
put you down in the water and then I’m going to bring you back up and that is
identifying with the resurrection of Jesus Christ as He would go down into
the grave subsequent to the crucifixion and He was buried and then He came up
out of the grave you will come up out of the water and you are identifying with
the resurrection of Jesus Christ you are now living as a new creation in Christ
the resurrection life turn with me to Romans chapter 6 I want to read verses 1
through 8 and this is one of those times where I really need for you to as we
were always told in in school put your thinking cap on okay I really need for
you to think through this and concentrate on this with me the Apostle
Paul is writing to the church in Rome and he says verse 1 Romans 6 what shall
we say then shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase by no means we
died to sin how can we live in it any longer or verse 3 don’t you know that
all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus and I want you to make a mental
note of that word baptized it’s the Greek word baptizo we’ll come
back to that all of us who were baptized baptizo into Christ Jesus
were baptized into his death we were there for verse four buried with Him
through baptism different word the Greek word baptismos
we were therefore buried with Him through baptism baptismos into death in
order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the
Father we too may live a new life if we have been united with Him like this in
His death we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection for
we know verse 6 that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of
sin might be done away with that we should no longer be slaves to sin
because anyone who has died has been freed from sin now if we’ve died with
Christ we believe that we will also live with Him alright let’s work through this
the reason I point out the two different Greek words that Paul uses is because
it’s going to be germane to our understanding of what water baptism is
what it means to be baptized in Christ one word means to dip and the other word
means to be soaked and Paul uses both and the best way that I’ve ever heard
this Illustrated was by way of an ancient Greek recipe for making pickles
I hope you like pickles I love pickles especially on my hamburgers but lest I
make anybody hungry so here it is the word baptizo baptized means to dip and
it was used among the Greeks when describing the dyeing of a garment that
was dipped baptizo into the dye baptismos different word on the other
hand means not to dip but to soak and was used among the Greeks to describe
the ceremonial washings of the articles by soaking them now this is where the
ancient Greek pickle recipe comes into play if a cucumber is dipped into water
baptizo there’s no change to the cucumber conversely you take that same
cucumber and you soak it baptismos in vinegar there’s a change and now that
cucumber will turn into a very delicious flavorable pickle I have ruined eating
pickles now for the rest of your life with this imagery probably right now
back to the passage in Romans and hopefully we can sort of connect the
dots here Paul uses both words saying we’re dipped baptizo into the water
but there’s no physical change outwardly however we’re buried with Christ through
baptismos into His death and resurrection and as
such we are changed inwardly spiritually no longer a cucumber if you will we are
now a beautiful delicious pickle that’s the best I could do so that’s all you’re
going to get it gets better actually thank you for
being so gracious to me by the way when our old self is spiritually buried with
Christ we now become dead to sin’s power over us no longer we just got done
singing that song I love that song because again in Romans 6 Paul says
therefore sin shall no longer have dominion over you there is therefore
Romans 8 verse 1 no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus why
because that has been broken sin’s power has been broken we’re no longer slaves to
sin and here’s the thing when Paul says that we will no longer be dominated by
sin the power of sin what he’s talking about is the guilt of sin not the
temptation to sin Paul does not say there will therefore now be no more
domination of sin’s temptation no no more domination of sin’s condemnation why
because Jesus Christ came He was crucified He was buried He took upon Him
all of that sin and paid for it in full and He was risen again on the third day
and He defeated sin and death with it and that’s why sin now no longer for the
Christian that has been born again of the Spirit of God sin no longer
dominates you sin no longer enslaves you your sin no longer condemns you there’s
no condemnation that power has been completely broken in the resurrection of
Jesus Christ see we’re dead to sins power because
we’ve been separated from sin’s power now here’s a question does that mean we’re
never going to sin again oh I could tell some of you were thinking about what I
was going to say about that well actually Scripture is replete with no uncertain
terms very clear in fact John says if you say that you have no sin you’re a
liar we all still sin and this side of heaven as long as we’re in these fleshly
bodies in this fallen world we will sin but it’s been paid for and that sin now
no longer condemns us it’s been broken that curse of that sin has been broken
and we’ve been set free from the bondage and the slavery to sin and death from
sin by virtue of Christ’s death when He paid for that sin and then His burial
and His resurrection all right this brings us to the often asked
question of whether or not I need to be water baptized in order to be saved
sadly there’s this false teaching known as
baptismal regeneration which basically says that water baptism is necessary for
salvation such that regeneration doesn’t happen until and unless one is water
baptized in other words you have to be water baptized to be saved you’ll
forgive the bluntness with which I say this and it’s even hard to say it but if
water baptism was required for salvation and subsequently regeneration then Jesus
was wrong when He said it is finished period not comma not semicolon it’s not
it is finished however it is finished if it is finished when no it is finished
period were water baptism I want you to think about this were water baptism
necessary for salvation it would become works right in other words there would
be something that we would have to bring to the table of our own salvation that
we have to do in addition to what Jesus already did such that we would still
have to do something on our part namely be water baptized and that cannot be
Ephesians 2:8 and 9 we talk about this all the time that were saved by grace
through faith not of works there’s nothing we can do to work for or
earn our salvation it is not of works it is the gift of God and the reason is is
so that no one can boast about hey you know what I had to do to get saved can you imagine heaven that would not be
heaven I think that’s the other place that people are going to go to I’m sorry if
I’m being kind of silly about it it’s not really a laughing matter but in
Luke’s Gospel the twenty-third chapter we have the account of the criminals we
call them the two thieves we don’t know if that was their crime but there were
two criminals on the cross next to Jesus on each side of the Savior when He was
crucified and they were both also being put to death in this cruel form of
crucifixion and as you know one rejected and one accepted and the one that
accepted said to Jesus will You remember me when You enter into Your kingdom
I want you to listen to the answer that Jesus gives this man in verse 43 of Luke
23 He says I tell you the truth today you will be with Me in paradise if you
can figure out how to get off the cross go get water baptized and get back up
here and then again you’ll forgive the silliness with
which I say that but how about John 3:3 we know this one well Nicodemus
this exchange between Jesus and Nicodemus and Jesus says in John 3:3
verily verily I say unto thee except a man be born again and be water baptized
he cannot see the kingdom of God doesn’t say that if your Bible says that can I
see you after because suffice it to say that water baptism is not a requirement
for one’s salvation I want to come back to that at the end in just a moment
here’s another question I think that needs to be addressed and it’s about
water baptism cleansing or removing sinful habits it does not now let me
hasten to say and this is another topic for another time we’ve talked about this
and we’ll talk about it again when the Lord presents the opportunity it’s the
baptism with the Holy Spirit that empowers us to live a pure and holy life
it is the and there’s a difference between the indwelling of the Holy
Spirit and the filling or being baptized with the Holy Spirit now I’m keenly
aware there are many here today from different church backgrounds and I
again don’t want to take the time nor do we have the time to get into this today
but the gifts of the Spirit are for today this is another false teaching
sadly oh it’s horrible and again you’ll forgive me
but there are well-known teachers Bible teachers and if I were to mention their
names you would know them and some of you have their books and they’re still
say they’re still going to heaven but they believe in what’s known as
cessationism which basically means that the gifts of the Holy Spirit ceased with
the Apostles and that is a false teaching if I could just be so frank
with you the truth is that is a false teaching the gifts of the Spirit if you
know let me maybe I’m supposed to say this but I always give the Holy Spirit
elbow room to break from the notes and maybe this is one of those times where I
just need to say this I don’t know how it is possible for a Christian in these
days that we’re living in as the world waxes more and more evil seemingly with
each passing day I do not know how a Christian is going to make it absent the
power of the Holy Spirit we need the baptism with the Holy Spirit now I’ve
had and it’s been just such a privilege and honor over the years when I’ve
baptized water water baptism and baptized someone in water they came up
and they were baptized with the Holy Spirit right there and if that happens
today whoa why are you looking at me like that
maybe I need to share this I grew up in fact you know how I know I’ve made a
really good decision is when my only regret is that I did not make that
decision sooner early in my Christian life I was told that the gifts were not
for today I’m going to really jam some people’s gears
that’s an old metaphor I’m sorry I’m going to crash some people’s hard drive
with this one I was always taught that tongues are of the devil so I’m like
whoa I don’t want that and then one day I’ll never forget it this is many years ago
when I was on the mainland still a relatively young believer I just was at
this place in my life where I mean I was defeated I was physically in need of a
healing I was spiritually in need of an empowering and a refreshing and
a restoration and I got down on my face and I cried out to God and I asked God
for the Holy Spirit and in my mind I remembered the words of the Savior when
He said that you as earthly fathers know how to give good gifts to your children I
mean like if they asked you for a fish you’re not going to give him a snake they
ask you for bread you’re not going to give him a stone or a rock how much more will
your heavenly Father give you the Holy Spirit if you ask so I just asked I said
Lord baptize me fill me with the Holy Spirit and boom He did and there was
this instant I mean unmistakable power that had come
upon me the power of the Holy Spirit and it changed my life forever and I never
looked back and even now as I’m talking about it I’m
I’m so excited because all of a sudden now I had this newfound power I was
walking in victory not defeat all of a sudden now I had the power of the Holy
Spirit in my life and I was in victory and I it was this holiness and this
boldness oh my goodness the boldness by the way if you’ve come from a Pentecostal
background there are five accounts in the book of Acts where the Holy Spirit
came upon somebody and only three of those five times was it accompanied by
the the gift of tongues which is an unknown language and there’s a
difference between speaking in tongues and praying in tongues praying in
tongues is a prayer language and God gave me that gave me my prayer language
and I pray continually without ceasing in my prayer language and it edifies me
and empowers me well maybe that was for somebody here today so water baptism
does not make you pure and holy only the power of the Holy Spirit and the baptism
with the with the Holy Spirit can First John 1:9 if we confess our sins He is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness you see the twofold work there it’s the forgiveness instant by
the way and then the cleansing that comes all right here’s the bottom line
and we’ll bring it to a close water baptism is a symbol of the death burial
and resurrection of Jesus Christ just as a wedding ring is a symbol that I’m
married in other words the wedding ring does not make me married rather it
symbolizes that I’m already married and so too does water baptism symbolize that
I’m already saved it is an outward expression of an inward commitment one
last thing maybe you came this morning and thought well I’ve already been
baptized in water but I don’t know if I’ve ever been
baptized with the Holy Spirit would you talk with me afterwards I’d like to talk
with you about that and maybe you want to get water baptized again you still
have time go home get your clothes come back I’ll dunk you man I’ll put you down
in that water and I’ll bring you back up too let’s pray Father in Heaven thank You Lord I just have this sense that and
maybe it’s not just for someone here in this service but maybe somebody even
online that You have really spoken to concerning the baptism with the Holy
Spirit and maybe for someone here or watching that’s what’s missing something
just isn’t quite right in your Christian life and maybe that’s what it is you
need the Holy Spirit the power of the Holy Spirit in your life Lord thank You
for the Holy Spirit thank You for water baptism and all that
it symbolizes and thank You for the baptism of the Holy Spirit as well in
Jesus’ name Amen

  2. Tony Su Posted on August 11, 2019 at 9:57 pm

Amen 🙏 ! Love ❤️ the teaching on water baptism, the public profession of what God has done in you and that we are bought with a price ! And the identification with Christ in His death burial and resurrection ! Water baptism indeed does not save you ! We are saved and at that very moment we are baptized by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ ! And the Holy Spirit dwells in us and seals us until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ then we get water baptized 😃. God bless you brothers and sisters! 😃

The name of the Father is Jesus. The name of the son is Jesus. The name of the Holy Spirit is Jesus. Don't get me wrong , I'm glad your baptizing people. AMEN
John 17:6 6 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
John 17:26 And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

2 Thessalonians 2:9 – The coming of the lawless one is based on Satan’s working, with all kinds of false miracles, signs, and wonders, 10 and with every unrighteous deception among those who are perishing.

What is about to happen on earth is going to be shocking. It is going to be supernatural beyond your wildest dreams…

Matthew 24:37 – As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

Jesus said that it will be as it was in the days of Noah. In context, he is speaking of the element of surprise… Noah had been preaching for years, yet it took the people by surprise. Jesus was talking about our day, in his day. The Prophets spoke of our day hundreds of years before that. Many have been preaching about our day for many years. I am writing about our day even now… yet it will take most people, including and perhaps especially, Christians by surprise.

If you understand Genesis 6, if you have read the book of Enoch, you know that there is more than just the element of surprise in Jesus comment, “As it was in the days of Noah…” In the days of Noah, we had a group of beings on this planet who are called Benei HaʼElōhīm (Strong's H1121, 430), the Sons of God. Refer to  Job 1:6 to see these are interdimensional beings that can appear before God.

Whether you call them fallen angels or aliens makes no difference, they were not human, but they mated with human women and produced a bastard race of giants called Gibborum or Nephilim. These Gibborum took over the human race and nearly extinguished it. This is referenced in the Book of Enoch:

Enoch 15 – 3. Wherefore have ye left the high, holy, and eternal heaven, and lain with women, and defiled yourselves with the daughters of men and taken to yourselves wives, and done like the children of earth, and begotten giants (as your) sons? 4. And though ye were holy, spiritual, living the eternal life, you have defiled yourselves with the blood of women, and have begotten (children) with the blood of flesh, and, as the children of men, have lusted after flesh and blood as those ⌈also⌉ do who die and perish. 5. Therefore have I given them wives also that they might impregnate them, and beget children by them, that thus nothing might be wanting to them on earth. 6. But you were ⌈formerly⌉ spiritual, living the eternal life, and immortal for all generations of the world. 7. And therefore I have not appointed wives for you; for as for the spiritual ones of the heaven, in heaven is their dwelling. 8. And now, the giants, who are produced from the spirits and flesh, shall be called evil spirits upon the earth, and on the earth shall be their dwelling

    Biblical scripture says:

Genesis 6: 9 (KJV) – These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and PERFECT IN HIS GENERATIONS, and Noah walked with God.

    * Steve Quayle has done extensive research on this in regards to the Nephilim, the Hybrids, and what is to come.

It is said that the meaning of the phrase is that Noah was still fully human, he had no Nephilim blood… His descendants could bring forth the promised Messiah, something impossible for the mixed breed people who made up the majority of the creatures dwelling on earth.

It is said that “Atlantis” refers to the Antediluvian world amd that Noah lived in what the world now calls Atlantis. This was an advanced society… They could and did build the pyramids… Something that we, with all of our technology and equipment, could not do today!

“As it was in the days of Noah…” gives us the first clue that they (Nephilim) are returning. As a matter of fact, they are still with us.

Genesis 6: 4 – The Nephilim were on the earth BOTH IN THOSE DAYS AND AFTERWARD, when the sons of God came to the daughters of mankind, who bore children to them. They were the powerful men of old, the famous men.

“In those days” refers to the days of Noah. “and afterward” refers to the time after the flood. We find them in the promised land when the Children of Israel went in.

Numbers 13:33 – We even saw the Nephilim there–the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim (Strong's H5303)! To ourselves we seemed like grasshoppers, and we must have seemed the same to them.”

God told the Israelites to kill them all, but we know that they did not do that. Goliath and his brothers were Gibborum, sons of the Nephilim. Archaeologists are digging up skeletons and skulls of Gibborum in Peru today. Native Americans in the United States tell of a race of cannibalistic giants, with six fingers and six toes, who once peopled the North American Continent.

It is said, the Illuminati… the Luciferian Elite… the Cabal… whatever you want to call them, the families who run the world today, claim to be Gibborum… descended from the Nephilim. This is why they are so very careful to intermarry… to protect the bloodline. Mayor Von Rothschild made all four of his sons marry first cousins…  It is said this is why the marriage of Prince Charles to Dianna was considered an unpardonable sin… her family is not of Nephilim blood and her children may or may not carry the blood necessary to rule… They are, in their own minds, “The Elect,” those born to rule over the “Useless Eaters.”

    Search for "Nephilim"

Scripture tells us that Jacob's Trouble, also known as Daniel's 70th week, will not come unless there be a falling away first (Apostasia) and then the Man of Sin will be revealed. The great falling away, departure from sound biblical doctrine is happening now as Pope Francis (The False Prophet) is calling all nations and religions to come together as one for the 4th Beast of Daniel 7, the New World Order (NWO) of Revelation 13.

The head of that NWO will be the final Antichrist… he is “The Man of Sin.” The miraculous and the Supernatural events that accompany his appearing are going to be powerful beyond belief… and God himself is going to send a strong delusion so that those who do not now love the truth will be deceived. God says that they will be deceived and that it is He who will allow it to happen for practising unrighteousness:

2 Thessalonians 2:11 – For this reason God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe what is false, 12 so that all will be condemned—those who did not believe the truth but enjoyed unrighteousness.

There are many dreams and visions (see Acts 2:17) that indicate that Obama will return as the AntiChrist and the rapture of the church (1 Corinthians 15:52) will be explained away as an alien abduction. It is said that UFOs and Aliens (demonic hybrids) will cause a great scene and fool the people.

It is my belief that Obama will liken himself to the Egyptian King Akhenaten who is said to be an Alien God who worked with other "sky people." I believe Obama will say he and his alien friends are the true God's of the universe who have planted us here on earth many centuries ago.

Do not believe this, Satan is the Father of Lies. We know that Jesus is the Creator (Colossians 1, John 1, Hebrews 1), and that Jesus is God manifested in the flesh (2 Corinthians 5:19). We must stay true to Jesus and not deny our faith, as the tribulation Saints will be ressurrected after Daniel's 70th week (7 years long) is completed and Jesus returns to judge the nations (Revelation 19, Jude 1).

Revelation 20:4 KJV – And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Do not believe Obama, Pope Francis, nor receive the Mark of the Beast, which is most likely the RFID microchip implant in the hand or forehead (Revelation 13:16).

19 Days till prayer challenge begins. I would like to issue a simple challenge to the body of Christ. Will you pray with me everyday during the month of September? Why September you ask. Because it’s the month of preparation for the fall feasts and our Jewish family is praying and preparing their hearts (time of repentance and drawing close to God) during the month. Did you know the shofar trumpet is blown every morning (except on Shabbat) during the month of Elul? How powerful could the month of September be if while some of the family are preparing their hearts for their appointed meeting times, we too are preparing our hearts for our meeting in the air!

Many of us believe that we are taken before God’s focus is returned back to Israel therefore many of us are praying for a final revival before that moment. I believe in the power of numbers if all of us, with intention and collectively, pray that we can see the Holy Spirit move in a powerful way during this precious month and for Christ’s return.

I know we pray all year round but let’s set a goal to pray for the salvation of Israel and the rapture of the Church for 30 days during September 2019. I was inspired to look for some shofar trumpet sounds to play in the mornings (not required!) and was surprised at the collection available. It’s a fun thought that trumpets for the Lord could be sounding off all around the world every day for 30 days. Anyway, I hope you will join me in prayer in September and feel free to mention your prayer requests. If you want to help please copy and share this request or make your own and help get the word out for a month of prayer in September! Blessings all around sweet family!

Many people believe that the rapture (the catching up) and the return of the Jesus Christ (Second Coming) to earth are the same event. However, scripture shows this idea to be false.

Jude 1:14-15 KJV — And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Enoch was prophesying about the return of Jesus, not the rapture. During the Second Coming, the return of Jesus, Jesus will ride to earth WITH His saints. This is not possible unless the dead in Christ have recieved their glorified bodies, which happens before the 7 year Tribulation period begins:

1 Corinthians 15:48-54 KJV – As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. [49] And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. [50] Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. [51] Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. [53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. [54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1 Corinthians 15 shows us that the dead in Christ do not recieve their glorified bodies until the time of the rapture where those who are "alive and remain" in Christ will be caught up in the air to be with the LORD:

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 KJV – For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

During the rapture (G726) Jesus does not return to earth with His Saints, but instead He calls them up to Heaven and in an instant the dead in Christ and those who are alive and remain (in Christ) will be changed into incorruptle bodies of the Heavenly image. We see clearly that Jesus' Second Coming is after the Tribulation and will be visible to all:

Matthew 24:29-30 KJV – Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: [30] And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

1 Thessalonians 3:13 KJV – To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

This is also revealed in the Book of Revelation:

Revelation 19:11-21 KJV – And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. [12] His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. [13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. [14] And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. [15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. [16] And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS . [17] And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; [18] That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. [19] And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. [20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. [21] And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

We know that the New Testament church was promised to rule and reign with Christ in the Milinneal Kingdom:

Revelation 2:26-27 KJV – And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: [27] And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

Revelation 1:5-6 KJV – And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, [6] And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

This idea of the Milinneal Kingdom being established after the AntiChrist reign with the False Prophet was first revealed in the Book of Daniel:

Daniel 7:23-27 KJV – Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. [24] And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. [25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. [26] But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. [27] And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

The 4th Beast and Little Horn (Antichrist) parallels the AntiChrist reign with the False Prophet and the Ten Horns (Kings) revealed in the Book of Revelation during Daniel's 70th week just before Jesus returns:

Revelation 13:1,5-8 KJV – And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. [5] And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. [6] And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. [7] And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. [8] And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

However, those Saints who die during the 7 year tribulation (Daniel's 70th week), will be resurrected after Jesus and the Saints (raptured Christians) return to defeat the False Prophet and the Beast (AntiChrist):

Revelation 20:4-6 KJV – And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. [5] But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. [6] Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

The First Resurrection is referring to the resurrection of the Tribulation Saints, and the Second Resurrection seems to be referring to resurrection of all people to be judged after the Millinneal Kingdom:

    Revelation 20:7-15 KJV

YES!! The body of Christ needs to be aware that Jesus death changed baptism from water baptism, to baptism by the Holy Spirit.
“While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied. Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:1-5‬

“Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ 17So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?” 18When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.” Acts 11: 16-18

Thank you Pastor JD Farag. This is the gospel I grew up with. Now there's so many people that think they don't need water baptism only baptism by the Holy Spirit. Which I think you get the Holy Spirit only after water baptism. Just like what happened to the disciples. Thank you for this word. God bless you.

I'm not sure if you misspoke or not…speaking in tongues is referenced as KNOWN languages, they are then listed. Psychotic babbling is not speaking in tongues, that is a trademark of the Pentecostal movements, it is wrong and very much not scriptural.

I refer you to Robert Breaker's teaching on this

I love you pastor Farag, i watch every video you have put on YouTube, but I'm hoping i just heard you wrong or you misspoke…

By baptizing we become a part of the body of Christ. His body died for our sins, was berried and resurected. Baptizing by submerging our bodies under water is a a simbolic dead of our sinful bodies, just as Jesus's body died with our sins on the cross. The sin has NO more rulling power ower our bodies.

  21. Eire Posted on August 12, 2019 at 5:08 am

Ahh such a wonderful Pastor you are. Now being 'Baptized' gives a whole new meaning:
I have become Pickled in Jesus's Holy name. -|-

Oh Pastor, I truly believe that what you said in the end was about me getting Baptized in 2017. Very upsetting circumstances caused by the Head Pastor of the Church I had started attending. After I was Baptized in the Atlantic Ocean I walked a Half Mile to my vehicle sat there thinking then I Lit Up a Cigarette, I never went back to that Church nor have I ever spoken to that Pastor.
(I've had many Supernatural thing's happen to me and know I am blessed by JESUS. I'm thinking Jesus Baptized me in 1973, so much to say Pastor but I only have my Cell which makes things a wee bit difficult.) I love Jesus, I am a Sinner but I pray each day and night and Repent. May Our Heavenly Father bless and keep each and everyone of you safe.

🔴🔴🔴Does Jesus Christ come back for His Bride (The Church) on Tu B' Av – The 15th of Av: Love and Rebirth (Thursday, August 15th to Friday, August 16th, 2019)? We are looking at this time for the following reasons:

◼️◼️⚠️1. This is the end of the wheat harvest, the time when Boaz (Jewish) married Ruth his Gentile Bride. This is a picture of when Jesus marries His Gentile Bride (The Church).

◼️◼️⚠️2. The Talmud tells us that many years ago the "daughters of Jerusalem would go dance in the vineyards" on the 15th of Av, and "whoever did not have a wife would go there" to find himself a bride. This is the one time of the year that a young Jewish man would pick up a bride! And this is the day which the Talmud considers the greatest festival of the year, with Yom Kippur(!) a close second!

◼️◼️⚠️3. The 15th of Av starts sundown in Jerusalem on Thursday, August 15th (WHICH IS MORNING IN THE USA) to Friday, August 16, 2019. What is interesting about this date is that many have had dreams and visions that the rapture will occur on a Thursday in the United States!

◼️◼️⚠️4. Last night, as I was thinking about Tu B Av, I felt led to check the Jewish date of last year's 613 minute long blood moon next to Mars in a constellation I am thinking points me to Jonah and his warning of coming judgment. It was on Tu B Av last year!

A one year's heads-up per the Jewish calendar?

The timing of Tu B Av this year per the Gregorian calendar also echoes another sign in the heavens I observed last year, which is also a possible one year heads-up in my estimation. It was when Jupiter came close to a star in Libra, for the third time, called Zeben El Genubi which means the price is deficient, the message given by Daniel to Babylon's last king just before his kingdom ended.

In other words, both of these celestial signs last year point me to Tu B Av this year.

So, I am very watchful for Tu B Av this year.

The fact the jewish tradition has the last 200 men of Benjamin (mentioned in the last chapters of Judges) snatching brides on this date is significant to me. Add to this the jewish tradition that Tu B Av is when the last group of folks in Israel during the wilderness wanderings realized they were not going to die but came out of their graves to inherit the promised land, makes me even more hopeful.

Tu B Av also seems to me to be a perfect day for a "provoke the jews to jealousy" rapture date. And to think that the theme of Tu B' Av is love, romance and weddings.

Tu B Av seems almost too perfect. Yet, I find, ironically, that I am fighting a bit to not get my hopes up.

Ever watching, ever hopeful. What else can we do? Jesus is our only blessed hope. He is worthy of our constant watching.

    ◼️◼️⚠️5. PRAYING 🙏🙏

REPENT OF ALL YOUR SINS TO GOD! Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior!

PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus Christ I realize that I am a sinner, and that you died on the cross for all my sins. I ask your forgiveness for all my sins right now, and ask that you please come into my heart and be my personal Lord and Savior forever! I thank you for dying on the cross for all my sins, and for loving me unconditionally! I humbly accept you as my personal Lord and Savior in my heart-Amen

GET HOLY SPIRIT WATER BAPTISM at a Christian Church! This is needed to seal your faith in Jesus Christ, and provide you with the Holy Spirit to help you!

(NOTE: Any spirit filled believer can baptize you. However if none is available, baptize yourself by prayer in a tub or pool. Afterwords asked Jesus to baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire!. Be baptized in the name of Jesus according to Peter….buried with Jesus (under water); raised with Jesus (come out of the water). You must be filled with the Holy Spirit!) Is Baptism A Requirement For Salvation?
One of the most basic things that has amazed me for many years is the preaching of "Giving your heart to the Lord" or "Asking Jesus into your life" to become a Christian. Do we not realize that such a practice is found NOWHEREin the entire Bible? Is there ANY example of someone "asking Jesus into their heart" (or similar) to become a Christian in the book of Acts? NO – NOT EVEN ONE. The book of Acts is full of literally thousands of people becoming born-again Christians. And we are often told exactly what these people did. But there is no record of any of them doing anything like "asking Jesus into their heart" to be saved.
Now SURELY, if the church has even remotely got it's act together, it would have this one thing right. Surely this has got to be one of the most crucial and basic points in the whole New Testament:- How exactly are people supposed to become Christians? What were they told to do in the New Testament? A very simple and straight-forward question, you would think. And so vitally important.
But incredibly, it seems that very few of us have even bothered to ask this question or to take on board the glaringly obvious answer. Here we have one of the most vital, fundamental points that it is possible to have in Christianity:- "What shall we DO TO BE SAVED?" And generally speaking, our answer today is utterly different from that of the apostles. Incredible really, isn't it? It's right there in black-and-white, time after time! But TRADITION has blinded our eyes to the Truth. And I'm sure that even many of you reading this will be shocked at how obvious the truth of this matter is.
Let's start with the day of Pentecost (-a great place to begin!) As we all know, the Holy Spirit fell on the 120, and they all began to speak in tongues. This is officially known by theologians as the birth of the Church – the beginning of Christianity as we know it. And after Peter preached his convicting sermon to the gathered crowd that day, another 3000 people were added to the church. And we are told exactly what occurred:- "… They were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'Brethren, WHAT SHALL WE DO?' And Peter said to them, 'REPENT, and be BAPTIZED every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS; and you shall receive the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT'" (Acts 2:37-38 RSV). Notice how different Peter's reply is to what we tell people today. We might have said something like, "Just say this little prayer after me" but Peter said nothing like that at all.
There were three elements to what Peter told them:- REPENTANCE, WATER-BAPTISM and receiving the HOLY SPIRIT. We see this pattern repeated again and again, right through the book of Acts (-in fact, throughout the New Testament writings) in the most glaringly obvious way. And yet still we hear, "Just ask Jesus into your heart" preached throughout Christendom today.
The next significant people-group to be reached by the early Christians were the Samaritans. In Acts chapter 8 we read how Philip the evangelist saw massive Revival in Samaria:- "But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were BAPTIZED, both men and women… Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT" (Acts 8:12-17). Note the identical pattern to the salvations on the day of Pentecost.
I hope you realize that we have been talking about THOUSANDS of conversions here. And NOT ONE of them involved "Giving their heart to the Lord" or "Inviting Jesus to be their personal savior". If you look up these Scriptures in Acts, you will see that every time it was "Repentance, Baptism and Recieiving the Holy Spirit". -Over and over again.
The next significant people-group to be reached by the early church were the 'Godly' gentiles (-Acts chapters 10 and 11). Peter was led to preach to Cornelius and his household. And God suddenly moved even while he was still preaching!:- "While Peter was still saying this, the HOLY SPIRIT FELL on all who heard the word… they heard them SPEAKING IN TONGUES and extolling God. Then Peter declared, 'Can anyone forbid water for BAPTIZING these people who have RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT just as we have?' And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ" (Acts 10:44-48). Peter later described the scene again: "As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit FELL ON THEM just as on us at the beginning" (Acts 11:15). He also referred to it as them being "Baptized in the Holy Spirit" (Acts 11:16). I hope you can see from these passages that the Holy Spirit 'FALLING' upon people is the same experience as people 'RECEIVING' or being 'BAPTIZED' in the Holy Spirit.
Thus we see the same pattern as before, in the salvation experience of Cornelius' household – (1) Repentant hearts, (2) Receiving the Holy Spirit and (3) Baptism.
Another good example involves some disciples of John the Baptist whom Paul met at Ephesus:- "And Paul said, 'John baptized with the baptism of REPENTANCE, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.' On hearing this, they were BAPTIZED in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul laid his hands upon them, the HOLY SPIRIT came on them; and they SPOKE WITH TONGUES and prophesied" (Acts 19:1-6). I guess I hardly need to point out the pattern by now?
Notice too that there were no "instructional classes" to prepare people for baptism. All the way through the book of Acts, people were baptized STRAIGHT AWAY, as soon as they were believing and repentant. With the Phillipian jailer, he and his entire household were baptized immediately – IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT (-Acts 16:32-33). With the Ethiopian eunuch, he was baptized by Philip straight away, in some water that they saw while travelling in his chariot (Acts 8:35-38). And the apostle Paul himself was baptized immediately by the disciple Ananias, who said something very interesting to Paul beforehand:- "Rise and be BAPTIZED, and WASH AWAY YOUR SINS, calling on His name" (Acts 22:16). This verse would be treated almost like "heresy" by many in today's church. How shocking to imply that baptism might have something to do with forgiveness and cleansing from our past sins! However, there are many verses like it scattered throughout the New Testament. Also note that Paul was told this DAYS AFTER he had had his blinding 'Damascus Road' experience. Today's Christians might assume that Paul was "born again" during this blinding encounter with God. Not so. Not until Paul was to be BAPTIZED was he to have his sins "washed away". This is clearly what the Scriptures say. Arguments, anyone?

    Water baptism

It's important to understand that when Peter preached to the crowd on that Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came upon them, Peter was teaching the gospel of the Kingdom which is for the Jews.

The first year of the early church was primarily made up of Jewish believers. The Jews were looking for the kingdom that they were promised to inherit through the Abrahamic Covenant.

After Christ died and rose again, the gospel of the Kingdom included the fact that people were saved by placing their trust in Jesus but at that time and under that gospel water baptism was required for the remission of their sins.

The Holy Spirit revealed the gospel of grace through the Apostle Paul. This gospel of grace was the mystery that was hid in God in ages past but now is revealed to the world.

The mystery revealed is the fact that now both Jews and gentiles are offered salvation and we are all baptized, with the baptism of the Holy Spirit into one body.

There is no distinction between Jew and Gentile, slave or free, male or female, We Are All One in Christ.

Salvation by faith in Jesus Christ results in a spiritual transformation where we receive the spiritual baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Water baptism is a physical baptism which has no power to save. A person needs to be saved already if they get water baptized.

Water baptism is a physical representation of a spiritual transformation.

In the act of being water baptized, when a person is put down under the water, it symbolizes the person you used to be passing away.

Being lifted up, out of the water, symbolizes being raised to New Life In Christ.

Water baptism is simply a public declaration that you are saved and belong to Jesus Christ.

Water baptism is an ordinance of the church.
If you have the opportunity to be water baptized, it's a great thing to do, but I just want you to understand that it is not essential for salvation. Not all believers get water baptized, and that's okay.
