Why does GOD allow PAIN AND SUFFERING? If He exists and is love?

Hey guys! Now a lot of people out there
in the world asked this question: if God exists and if it’s a God of love then why would he allow so much suffering and pain in
the world to exist? This is a very important question and I used to
struggle with this as well because I lost two brothers and all my
grandparents died so death was something that I’m very used to. My first brother
was shot three times in the chest in Johannesburg. The other one died in a car crash and I lost my father just recently to cancer, multiple myeloma cancer. Now
some of you that know what this is you know it’s a very painful cancer so my
dad went through a lot of suffering. Now these are only a few things that I’m
mentioning and I know that there’s a lot of you that are going through things
that may be a lot worse than what I’m going through. So that’s why in this
video, I want to answer this question of why God allows suffering and pain in the
world. So let’s get to it hey just very quick if it’s your first
time here on my channel I’m Daniel and welcome to DLM Christian lifestyle.
Subscribe and also click that notification bell so you won’t miss any
of the next videos. Now let’s start with the first answer number one is free choice. What do I mean by free choice? Well let me explain it God is love and He gives us love. We know this from 1 John 4 verse 7 to 8 and it says, “let us love one another for love is
from God and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love” But it is important to know that we
as humans cannot fully love if it is not combined with the freedom of our will. So
God gives all of us the freedom to make our own choices. Think about it, if we are
controlled by God to love without our own free choice in the matter then it’s
not really true love. You see God wants us to love him with all our heart, with all
our soul, with all our mind and also to love each other, but he will not violate
our free will by controlling us to do. So he tells us what He wants us to do,
because He knows what is good for us but He leaves the choice with us and
unfortunately, there’s a lot of people out there in the world that make a lot
of wrong decisions and they decide to do evil things. But see… to ask God to
stop all the evil acts is to ask God to take away our freedom of choice. You know, sometimes it’s easy to just try and blame God for everything, but you have to
look at humans, because we are the ones that’s creating this mess that we are
living in. Suffering is a result of sin. Did you
know that most of the suffering and pain that we go through is because of our own
sin… Yeah, we have free will to make our own decisions but there’s always
consequences to the decisions that we make. Things like anger… lust… greed…
arrogance, selfishness and some of these kinds of sins often
results in broken relationships and in some kind of unhappiness. Suffering and
pain is also the result of someone else’s sin, for example, war and political
agendas. Let’s look at the starvation for an example most of the starvation in the
world is caused by the unequal distribution of the world’s resources,
civil war or some other form of human sin and in the same way individual
suffering is also often caused by someone else’s sin for example adultery,
theft, sexual abuse, unloving parents, reckless or drunk people and murder like
the guy who killed my brother… three times in the chest… my brother was very
young, 21… He had his whole life in front of him and he was killed by someone
else’s sin and the suffering I endured, the suffering my parent’s endured, the
suffering all our family and friends everybody endured, was because of this
guy’s sin and sometimes we don’t want to talk about sin, but sin causes suffering
and pain in this world. Pain and suffering also show us that
something is wrong. What do I mean by this? Well, God in His infinite wisdom
sometimes allow pain and suffering in our lives to show us that something
isn’t quite right. That something is wrong, for example, some people have
congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis. This means that they can
never feel any kind of pain and it might sound great you know but it’s actually
very bad because if they step into a nail it gets infected, but they don’t even
realize it’s very very dangerous and it might cost them their life. I was like
this you know. Just living my life, going from one day to the other,
never thinking that I would die and then suddenly my grandparents started to die.
My first brother died, my second brother died and it dawned on me. The reality, the
the truth of life. Of how my life could end like that and what am I doing with it
and it made me realize that something isn’t right. It’s not a perfect
world that we live in and thinking about that guy that shot my brother… the way he
did it and the type of person that he was… You know, death and certain other
experiences let you see sin and the destruction that it causes in this life
without God. So it shows you that something is wrong with this world that
we live in it’s a fallen world that turned his back
on a loving God and towards the sin of people and so if we see the pain and the
suffering in this world then it is very clear to also see that it needs a healer
and God is the only one that can heal this world. So even pain ultimately leads
to God. Now asking this question also assumes a moral law, which also then
assumes that God exists as the law Giver. Let me explain it this way: If you ask the question, if God exists then why is there so much evil in the
world? well, if you believe there’s evil then you must also believe that there is
good and then you must also believe that there’s a moral law where you can know
the difference between good and evil and then if there’s a moral law, there has to
be an ultimate Lawgiver, which is God. so God has to exist for a question to be
real, because if God is not real, there’s no ultimate law Giver and that means
that there’s no good and evil and you know sometimes we focus so much on all the suffering and the pain in the world and we forget that there’s also a lot of
good even some… I mean it’s impossible for one person to see all the good that
there is in the world. So you can’t see all the good in the world, right? But did
you ask yourself this question: Where does all the good come from? Well the
Bible says in James 1 verse 17 whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God You know the suffering and the pain in
this world is also the result of a fallen world. It’s because of Adam’s and
Eve’s sin. We read this in Genesis 3 so it’s Adams and Eve’s sin that caused
“thorns and thistles to enter the world” and “ever since then creation was
subjected to frustration”, If you read Romans 8 verse 20. So if you look at this
fallen world, natural disaster is also a result of this disorder in creation. Now
human freedom does not always answer this question of why does a particular
individual suffer or why nations suffer but it does explain the origin of
suffering. Suffering and pain is the result of either your sin, someone else’s
sin or by just living in a fallen world and
remember this even though there’s pain and suffering in this world. God still
works through the pain and suffering to restore people’s lives and to heal them.
He provides a future the Bible says, “God has a good plan for those who are his
children” in Jeremiah 29 verse 11 and “we know that all things work together for
good to those who love God”, in Romans 8 verse 28 and no matter the problems that
we face in this world. As his children we can fully trust him as our Father and
remember this: When you focus so much on just this world you are forgetting that
this world is temporary… we’re only here for a very short time… you might die
tomorrow, you might die next week, you might die in a few years, but we never
know and so if you live for God. If you live in righteousness. If you live for
him. If you trust Him. If you repent of your sins and if you’re in a continual
relationship with him. You’ll live forever in heaven where there is no
suffering and no pain but the choice is yours and even if you
look at just this world, sometimes we can’t understand everything. We can’t see
the whole picture and even if you don’t understand everything, time will give you
the answer. Let me explain this to you in a very quick story, then it’ll make a
little bit more sense: One day there was a poor farmer. He had one son and one horse and there was also a noisy neighbor. One day this one horse walked away, the
neighbor came and he looked at it and he said “oh it’s actually very bad luck that
you’re only one horse walked away” and the farmer looked at him and said “you
know… what do I know about life? I can’t see the future”. Anyway, a few days later
this one horse brought back nine other horses. The neighbor came again, he looked at it, he’s like “ah! It was actually a good luck because now you have ten
horses! Wow”! and the farmer looked at him and said “you know, what do I know about
life?” and then neighbor walked away again and a few days later his son tried to
tame one of these horses and the horse kicked his leg and his leg broke and
then the neighbor came and the neighbor is like “Ah! It was actually bad luck
because the only son you had to help you with everything here on the farm… his leg
is broken so what…aah, it’s bad luck!” The farmer looked at him and said “you know what do
I know about life? I can’t see everything.” and then a few days later a gang that
was in the area trying to take all the young men to join their gang forcefully
came to the farmer and he saw that his son’s leg is broken. So they
left him. They passed on. The neighbor came again like “Wow! Actually, it was good luck because they didn’t take your only son”, and the farmer looked at him again
and said “You know what do I know about life? We can’t see everything”. So just
in a series of episodes, you can see clearly that we cannot see what lies
ahead of us in life. Something might look like it’s very bad to you, but in reality,
it’s not… Time will give you the answer Wait until you stand in front of God and
then you’ll clearly see the ugliness of evil, the majesty of his love and he’s
goodness. Then you’ll understand why God allowed certain suffering and pain in
your life. All right, now if you liked this video, give it a thumbs up, subscribe
and watch some of my other videos. I’m sure he’s gonna help you out and
remember God loves you! I love you too I’ll see you in the next video, bye!
Take mine life and let be… consecrated Lord to Thee.

    5) Could God had made a world with free will but without bad?
4)Could God had made a world without sins?
3)Why didnt God made a perfect world?
2)Animals dont judge what is good or evil because they dont have logic and good/evil doesnt exist in their world, we do ask this question because we have logic and we have constructed it and have given definition to good and evil, what is more, good and evil are subjective from century to century and country to country, as for the last thing you said "whatever is good and perfect was given by God", by who was given whatever is bad and imperfect?
1)a)Why didnt God told them that the snake was lying and let then eat it without warning?
b)Why doesnt God send us staight to heaven but insyead lets us suffer here first?
c)based on your previous statements there is suffering because there is free will, is there free will in heaven?

The existence of God is not something that is debatable to me… the universe was created (we know this from the big bang). You cant create something from nothing. God is real.

Now as far as the question is God great and loving, I do believe God is great and loving! I think there are things we cant/dont understand while on this earth but I believe God always works out things for our good in the end Praise God!

We get the chance to choose. If we choose positive, positive follows , if you choose negative, negative comes along. Many people don't understand that the power is within us, they expect someone from outside to come along and save them. We are what we think, imagine and feel all day long!

I’m going to try not to be a dick in my response but as someone who was raised Christian and now thinks religion is ridiculous, it’s gonna be hard. First off, the “free will” argument is ridiculous. How is “free will” a good enough excuse for the death of millions of innocent people? I would happily give up my free will to ensure that my family is safe. God is all powerful, meaning we can have free will in every way in our lives, except for hurting each other. That seems like a perfect middle ground if you ask me. Also, why are people born psychopaths and sociopaths and born gay? The Bible calls being gay an abomination yet god allows people to be born gay? Why would god allow people to be born sociopaths or psychopaths, knowing they don’t have morals and can’t do anything about it? This also flows into your morality argument about if there is good or bad, then there must be a god. That’s absolutely ridiculous. There are objective good and bad things due to evolutionary purposes. We are beings that need to live in communities and we aren’t solitary beings, meaning biological rules had to be established to make this work. It’s a survival technique to have morals. For example, if you were afraid one of the people in your community was going to harm you, you wouldn’t want that person in your community and that person would most likely be forced to leave. Let’s put this in context to a pack of wolves. If a wolf was killing other wolves bc they felt like it, eventually the other wolves would kill it. Morals are a survival instinct. To another point you made, this may not have been what you meant but it came across like that to me. You said that bad things happen bc people don’t have relationships with god like they should. This is also objectively untrue. I’m an atheist and I have absolutely zero desire to hurt anyone. The idea of an innocent person being hurt literally disgusts me. For every atheist that hurts another person, there are 5 examples of a religious person committing an act with the belief that they’re doing this for their faith and yes, this applies to Christians as well. Hell, in the US, there are a lot of people who believe we are in the Middle East bc it’s Muslims vs Christians. In the US, there have also been a few abortion clinic bombings….. by Christians. Let’s also not forget the crusades and other atrocities committed by people of faith. I realize this isn’t what this video was about but I think it’s still relevant, there are SO MANY factual inaccuracies in the Bible it’s not even funny. There are also many things in the Bible that we would consider immoral, ESPECIALLY in the Old Testament. Another point I’d like to make is that of other religions. What separates Christianity from Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, or Greek mythology or any other religion? They all claim to have the true god(s) yet you don’t believe in them. Why? Indoctrination, that’s why. It’s incredibly rare for someone to be raised with one religion and switch to another, that’s largely due to indoctrination. There have been 3,000 different religions since the beginning of mankind, yet in your view, the other 2,999 are bs. Ricky Gervais put it best. You are an atheist to 2,999 religions, I’m just an atheist to one more than you. Lastly, I could not be more sorry about your brothers. I know what it’s like to lose someone close and the pain that’s involved in that loss.

I believe that once you get the perspective that this life is themporary then you can start to give each thing or happening the due importance. Also this way is posible to understand and accept that an innocent suffer from other's sins or simply by the circunstances, because this World, this life, is not the end, it is just a step.

Pain and Suffering will always be with us. We may say "I'm just fed up with it all" leading us to despair. I recently spotted a billboard in front of a church that had a saying on it that might be something we can all relate to during these low times of our life. It's one of those quick soundbites that really says a lot! "The cure for the fed up is to look up".

Pain and suffering has changed me more than anything else. It has brought me back to God many times when I have strayed. It has also taught me more than any other method. God has been putting me into painful situations since the 1970s with the express purpose of showing me how He feels and the problems He faces. It's why counselee's often say to me and their girlfriends, boyfriends and mothers things like he has more empathy than any other person I have ever known. Or Mick/Michael knows exactly where I'm coming from. I love to enter into other peoples lives and pain even animals. They can understand me as in the spirit everything and everyone is united in love. I like knowing how God thinks and what He feels, my physical father used to do this with me. Although I was into psychology when I was 13 I know it is limited in healing, but not in knowing others, as God has a soul and a spirit like us and animals have a soul and a spirit as well. Pain and suffering is the path to spiritual perfection and maturity as it teaches you to lay down your life for your friends like Jesus did. Pain and suffering cleanses you by getting you out of the flesh and when you get out of the flesh you are more in the spirit. Being in the spirit is where the peace and joy is, which we need in this sad, troubled world. Just because you're suffering doesn't mean God has abandoned you or doesn't love you, it means He cares about you and is chastening you. ALL the great spiritual people suffered, even though their lives were unique and they lived in different time periods with different cultures. They say 'no pain no gain in the gym,' well it's the same in spiritual life as well.

I agree with your points. But I have some questions.
I lost my wife to lung cancer 3 months ago. She suffered badly before passing away. My church, cell group members and all of us prayed fervently for her but alas after fighting bravely for 21 months, she passed away.
I understand that getting such disease is the result of a us living in a fallen world.

But I can't correlate what has heppened with various verses in the Bible, e.g. Romans 8:28 which says that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose".
There is nothing good for her to go through that suffering…
And in James 5:14-15, it talks about "prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well." Which obviously did not happen.

So if there are verses in the Bible which seemed to say something that does not seemed correct, does that mean that the Bible is not inerrant?

And since free will is so important to God, doesn't that mean that he will not intervene in our lives? Because that will go against our free will?

E.g. He did not intervene to stop Adam and Eve from taking the fruit, and He did not prevent Cain from murdering Abel. Free will.
So I am very confused about the Bible nowadays.

I know all our sufferings are due to sin and having messed up everything ourselves, but my honest question is, "Why God didn't just lock up Satan and all the fallen angels in hell before or after creating the earth and humans?" I thank him for giving us free will and choice but, brother, if I create something "good" or even great, I think I would do something to protect it from anyone who could potentially damage it. God in his omniscience must have known that humans will just fall into any temptations, so why not just shut that tempter away? That's his destiny and destination after all. 😥😧

The Bible clearly states: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (1 John 5:19) When you think about it, does that not make sense? This world reflects the personality of the invisible spirit creature who is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9) Satan is hateful, deceptive, and cruel. So the world, under his influence, is full of hatred, deceit, and cruelty. That is one reason why there is so much suffering.

A second reason why there is so much suffering is that mankind has been imperfect and sinful ever since the rebellion in the garden of Eden. Sinful humans tend to struggle for dominance, and this results in wars, oppression, and suffering. (Ecclesiastes 4:1; 8:9) A third reason for suffering is “time and unexpected events.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11.) In a world  without Jehovah as a protective Ruler, people may suffer because they happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It is comforting for us to know that God does not cause suffering. He is not responsible for the wars, the crimes, the oppression, or even the natural disasters that cause people to suffer. Still, we need to know, Why does Jehovah allow all this suffering? If he is the Almighty, he has the power to stop it. Why, then, does he hold back? The loving God that we have come to know must have a good reason.—1 John 4:8.

To find out why God allows suffering, we need to think back to the time when suffering began. When Satan led Adam and Eve into disobeying Jehovah, an important question was raised. Satan did not call into question Jehovah’s power. Even Satan knows that there is no limit to Jehovah’s power. Rather, Satan questioned Jehovah’s right to rule. By calling God a liar who withholds good from his subjects, Satan charged that Jehovah is a bad ruler. (Read Genesis 3:2-5.) Satan implied that mankind would be better off without God’s rulership. This was an attack on Jehovah’s sovereignty, his right to rule.

Adam and Eve rebelled against Jehovah. In effect, they said: ‘We do not need Jehovah as our Ruler. We can decide for ourselves what is right and what is wrong.’ How could Jehovah settle that issue? How could he teach all intelligent creatures that the rebels were wrong and  that his way truly is best? Someone might say that God should simply have destroyed the rebels and made a fresh start. But Jehovah had stated his purpose to fill the earth with the offspring of Adam and Eve, and he wanted them to live in an earthly paradise. (Genesis 1:28) Jehovah always fulfills his purposes. (Isaiah 55:10, 11) Besides that, getting rid of the rebels in Eden would not have answered the question that had been raised regarding Jehovah’s right to rule.

God doesn't allow suffering , his will must be fulfilled, we are under the crooked leader named Satan hence the pain your referring too, people must read the Bible and get acquainted with scripture, as you know we must endure suffering ,we must share in the suffering of our Messiah Jesus Christ , we must repent and turn to him PERIOD. The war on suffering has already been defeated ,we must endure ,it's not nice but that's the way it is until that blessed day our Lord returns ❤☝

Daniel, I appreciate your video. You mentioned very good points about the effects of our own sins and sins of others. It's also important to mention that there are generational curses as listed in Exodus 20:5 "You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me," For instance, people who have seen cancer running in their family or other diseases that are predominant with their blood line. Jesus can heal them by cast out those demon spirits that are trying to kill them. You can watch several testimonies of people who have been from terminal sickness. Great videos. Thank you!
