Youth Theology Institute at Shenandoah University

so the Youth Theology Institute here at
Shenandoah University is a two-week immersive experience for high school
students so 9th 10th 11th and 12th graders in the summer here at Shenandoah
and in Washington DC with our partner institution Wesley Theological Seminary
every afternoon is different every afternoon is challenging in its own way
and every afternoon enriches the academic experience and the whole
experience for here in this environment we’re in a wilderness environment camping
out we go and do service learning at farms and at interfaith sites I decided
to apply because I just thought it sounded like a really great opportunity
to be able to learn more about not just Christianity but even some other religions as welI I really enjoyed the academic classes mainly because the teachers are so caring they’re so
focused on what they’re doing they really want to understand where you’re
coming from and they want to give you a voice in the classroom it’s definitely
not just you know they’re gonna sit up here and lecture for a while I’ve gone to church
and stuff but we don’t really have class so we don’t have school in school they
don’t have classes about religion I don’t really get a deeply learn into it
and the church that I go through it’s a very small church so it doesn’t have a
big youth or anything so I haven’t really been able to learn about it so it’s really cool to learn about it that’s one thing I’m taking away and then as I said earlier
the friendships and stuff that’s one thing I really was looking forward to
and I’m really happy that I got to experience this high school students who
apply and are accepted into our program actually become Shenandoah University
students for the summer you register through our registration portal and you
receive three college credits students can apply directly to our website or if
you are not a student if you are a parent or friend or family member or
pastor or youth leader you can also nominate a student we are so excited
about our youth theology Institute here at Shenandoah University and we hope
that you will consider applying see you this summer
